MAHATMA GANDHI

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, who was also known as Mahatma, "Great Soul" Gandhi, was a hero, as well as a political and spiritual leader of India. He was of the Hindu faith, of which I am too. Mohandas brought India to independence by using non-violent resistance. He thought that there was injustice being served to the Indians, especially to the immigrants by the South Africans. Gandhi was born on October 2, 1869 in Porbandar, Kathiawar, now known as Gujarat. Gandhi passed away at the age of 78 on January 30, 1948. Mahatma Gandhi was brought up in India near Rajkot.

Mother Teresa is known to all the world for the kind of humane person she was. She is known for her selfless attitude towards needy and helpless people. On August 26 1910, she was born in Skopje, Macedonia, and came to India at the age of 18 after becoming a nun. She decided to live the rest of her life as a nun. Mother Teresa was a Catholic nun and missionary who was widely known and respected for her humanitarian work. "Mother" was a title of affection and respect given to her by many people who saw her as a spiritual mother figure, particularly within the Catholic Church.

A.P.J. Abdul Kalam (born October 15, 1931, Rameswaram, India—died July 27, 2015, Shillong) Indian scientist and politician who played a leading role in the development of India's missile and nuclear weapons programs. He was president of India from 2002 to 2007. Kalam earned a degree in aeronautical engineering from the Madras Institute of Technology and in 1958 joined the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). In 1969 he moved to the Indian Space Research Organisation, where he was project director of the SLV-III.
